Question for diabetics or anyone who knows the answer
She has suggested
glyburide
or glimepiride as a replacement. She said Medicare won't pay for brand names, but I don't think she understands that I don't have a Medicare drug plan. My insurance will pay for farxiga but I've tried that and don't like the way it makes me feel.

Glyburide and CKD
Hello, I take
glyburide
for type 2 diabetes. I recently switched pharmacies and my new pharmacist was surprised I was taking this medication as I have stage 4 ckd. However, my doctor doesn't seem concerned. Should I be worried that this medication could further hurt my kidneys. Thank you.

Mechanism of the prorelaxing effect of thyroxine on the sphincter of Oddi
Bile issues - as the paper says - are all too common in hypothyrodism. Although relatively old (14 years) this paper appears to claim a direct T4 effect - though if we looked in greater detail, it would obviously be important to know what effect T3 has in the same arena. [i]Scand J Gastroenterol.

Generic Medicines for Diabetes are most economical
Do you know that Govt. of India has initiated a new scheme (see details at www.janaushadhi.gov.in) for manufacture and sale of generic medicines for diabetes (and many others). These are manufactured by top companies and sold at a very cheap price in govt. owned medicine shops. The rates are as following
