CKD and urine

Can anyone tell me if CKD can affect the smell of urine?? Mine certainly smells sweet and unlike urine. Or could it be through medication which I have been on a number of years but the smell only started about a year ago.

Diabetes is the first thing that came to mind, but certain foods like pineapple can make your urine smell sweet because of the sugar.

Yes it certainly can. In fact the earliest symptom I had was a weird smelling wee.

Check with your doctor. Look at sugar levels.
