I still don't see how sodium bicarbonate and vitamin B3 would be a cure. Sodium bicarbonate is nothing new and is apparently used for treating metabolic acidosis and last I've heard was that people following an alkaline diet had better outcome. I would not take B3 in dose mentioned before talking with my doctor. But the question would be why am I not getting enough from my diet. I will personally stay as far away from his channel as I can.

I agreee. B3 and other vitamins work in synergy with other nutriants. I dont know much about sodium bicarbonate but eating fresh foods ...plant based food goes a long way towards good health.

I take sodium citrate (not bi carb because I could not tolerate it), and it works wonders. I have high uric acid level because of Psoriatic Arthritis. Food was never going to fix that.Niacin.... I would stay away from that huge dose he recommends.

Yeah you can get B3 easily enough in plants.

Thanks for posting the info, but I am always leery of YouTube "cures".

Sodium bicarb is baking soda and it's high in sodium so anyone with hypertension needs to check with their physician, as with anything else.

B vitamins make me vomit for some reason.

I'll take a pass, but it does interest me to know what's going on and what others may be trying.

According to the Mayo Clinic: "High doses of niacin available via prescription can cause:

Severe skin flushing combined with dizziness

Rapid heartbeat

Itching

Nausea and vomiting

Abdominal pain

Diarrhea

Gout

Liver damage

Diabetes"

Gout and Diabetes are common comorbidities and may cause gout.

Baking soda can neutralize acid, but your stomach makes acid and your body neutralizes it. Furthermore, high levels of sodium may contribute to hypertension (high blood pressure). Therefore, the efficacy of this treatment is questionable.

For a website to promote treatments without scientific evidence supporting it may be both irresponsible and unethical despite accrediting this information to another source. Caveat emptor!

And if you have high serum CO2 levels, taking any BICARBONATE should be run by a doctor first. I question that YouTube channel because of all the rehashed stats about ckd in general. This is certainly not a real scientific study.

Yep, this is a couple months old. Beware though this may not be permanent or helpful for those with genetic diseases like PKD, Alports etc. He only had 25 proven case studies, out of 4+ million with CKD. Its only normal to expect non working for some. Also does not include the over half million on dialysis. All I'm saying is don't have overly high expectations, be open and smart. Blessings
