That is something you will have ask a nephrologist and or urologist for their opinion.

Your gf should be seen by a nephrologist or urologist for their opinion. I had the same thing happen to me.

Taivis, It's all good now .... I feel so much better since it was removed. No more pain, no more issues with both the kidney & ureter, and less visits to the nephrologist & urologist. Please keep us posted on your gf's progress, prayers for healing.

Hi Taivis. So sorry to hear about the ureter damage! I'm sure your girlfriend's swelling and discomfort has been horrible. My hubby also had a urine leak from a ureter "pinprick" hole. In his case, he received a kidney transplant and the hole occurred where the new ureter was stitched into his bladder. So urine poured into his abdomen and exited through his incision. We literally moped it up by taping pee pads over the wound. (Your girlfriend's body seems to have retained the urine and somehow absorbed most of it...so painful.) Anyway, there are a number of reasons for my hubby's issue which I won't go into here. Long story short, it was caught in time (about a month out) and his new kidney is still working fine. Running lab reports has been constant throughout this ordeal as urine floating around and building up inside the body cavity isn't a good thing for sensitive organs. I sense, as long as your girlfriend's lab reports are stable and the urethra problem is repaired, that your girlfriend's kidney(s) will be fine. Sending prayers that this is the case.
