My son who is special needs( cerebral palsy) has been on dialysis for the past three months.

His appetite is real bad , I supplement his diet with s

Pithiest containing Nepro HP , veggies & fruits.

Two weeks ago( he has right side paralysis) his right upper arm snapped I. Two. This resulted in a very expensive operTion( we have no insurance) the nephrologist only comment was he was t surprised since my son has osteoporosis! This was the first I heard of this . Is there any treatment for Pat patients on dialysis & suffer from osteoporosis, or do they just break & break?? Someone please help.

I'm sorry to hear about your son's many challenges. What does the doctor recommend for treatment? As a dialysis patient with osteoporosis, he probably has a special diet that his renal dietician recommends. I was a peritoneal dialysis patient five years ago with osteoporosis. I had to make sure I consumed enough protein while also taking calcium to address my bone health. Your son's doctor or renal dietician will have guidelines which may include strength -training exercises once he recovers from his operation. Best wishes to you and your son.
