I am new to the forum. I am 46 yo male and have diabetes type 2 for around 12 years, mostly uncontrolled. HBA1C always around 7.5. BP is OK around 120/84. I did a urine test last week and Urine Albumin was 1+. eGFR is 124 , sodium at 100 and chloride at 90. Other values are ok. I also have NASH liver fibrosis (10.7 kpa) , although I was drinking for all these years around 90 ml liquor 3 days a week. Doctor seems unconcerned about both. She says fibrosis and Kidney disease are common among diabetes and can be taken care. Any advise ?

Hi Amitc23. I'm glad you're looking into improving your health status. I'm not a health professional so my comments are mine only. But I am a caregiver to my hubby, now on dialysis, who lost his kidney function due to diabetes (type 2) which he tried to control with insulin, etc. Simply looking at your post and the numbers given, I can see your propensity to liver disorders and diabetes. Thankfully, you probably already know how to control both - staying away from alcohol and limiting carbs/sugars. These things are completely in your hands. Right now, you're still able to lead a "normal" life - you can work, travel, and more. Don't take that for granted. Treat your body well and it will gift you with a long life. So this may well be a great time to see a registered dietician for support and additional direction. Sending encouragement and blessings your way.
