I guess you have to start somewhere so how are your labs in relation to your kidneys? If you are in metabolic acidosis some of the pain can be related to that.

I don't know what Metabolic Acidosis is. My blood glucose levels are normal and my urine pH is 6, and my ketone levels are normal . Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks

You're welcome. I was diagnosed with gout many years ago. However, recently I went to an urgent care clinic with a swollen and inflamed right foot. The urgent care doctor said I had a gout flair-up and he prescribed prednisone which made the swelling and inflammation subside. My uric acid blood level has been normal. I don't know if I have gout or not.

Sorry to hear that and hope you find a way forward soon. Physiotherapy can help. I know you have done it but don’t give up on that. It’s a long term thing and the follow up exercises have to be done daily, Like my Pt instructor says it is like a blood pressure pill that you have to take daily.

Sometimes slowing down any strenuous exercises till your pain subsides will also help. You can of course walk and be active just don’t do exercises that are painful or aggravating. Also rest, ice, elevate and compress (RiCE) is a good advise.

And if you believe in alternative therapies then acupuncture with a good master and even homeopathy again with a knowlegable practitioner can be tried

Ofcourse you have to rule out if any medicine is causing it. I remember that my son had pain issues with some BP medicines that went away when he changed it.

Hope you feel better soon🙏

I have physical therapy exercises, which I religiously do daily. I have been doing these exercises for more than two years. In addition to the exercises, my physical therapist has also given me massages, electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and heat treatments. My pcp doctor, who is an osteopath, also has given me spinal manipulations and acupuncture. They didn't help either.

I do take blood pressure medicine, and I will check your lead out about my medicines and my back pain. Thanks again for your help.

I am so sorry you are experiencing all of that spinal pain! My nephrologist always told me that kidneys on there own do not cause pain unless you have an infection, kidney stones polycystic kidneys or a blockage. Just be sure your doctor has checked all of that out, that would make sure it is not kidney related.

My nephrologist had me take a kidney ultrasound. He told me the same as your nephrologist told you that kidneys do not cause pain.
