I would think your doctor would give your preop and postop directions and what to eat or not eat after the procedure. As far as for you try to relax as much as possible and try not to worry. Worry and stress will only increase the chance of your blood pressure increasing and weakens your Immune System. Best wishes and prayers to you.

If it’s the same as mine you don’t need to worry.

Didn’t need any special prep when I had mine. Gave me a sedative beforehand and for the procedure I laid on my front and had a local anaesthetic. They made a small hole and inserted a sort of spring loaded gun. Guided by ultrasound, this fired a small tube into the kidney surface to extract a core which was checked under a microscope. Painless, minor discomfort but i didn’t care anyway due to sedative. Had to lie still in bed back on ward overnight while hole healed sufficiently then discharged. No food or drink restrictions that I recall. Hope this helps.

Your doctor or his/her nurse will give you specific directions.

My biopsy was very much a non-event. I checked into the hospital on time to be prepped. I laid on my stomach during the procedure. They used a local anesthetic. I heard everything during the procedure. I stayed in the hospital for a few hours following to be sure I did not experience internal bleeding. I ran into no difficulties following and so was discharged to go back home 3-4 hours after the procedure.

No problems sleeping after. It took a few weeks to get the results back... But truly no problem. Very easy procedure.

Same experience as Jayhawker, no big deal at all. Had mine about 3 years ago, and getting another one done next month. Good luck and good health!
