Pain in right side of the kidney area
First, you need to report your pain to your doctor/nephrologist. My doctor always told me that your kidneys alone do not cause pain. You have pain if you have an infection, a kidney stone or a blockage. Are you running a temp?
Managing or handling the pain must be done with tylenol but not NSAIDS like NO ibuprofen, Advil etc. Then call your doctor and discuss your symptoms with them at an office visit so they can also assess you in person. Blessings
Agreed you should discuss with your doctor especially nephrologist since you are in stage 4. They might have an ultrasound done just to be sure things are ok with your kidneys. It is also possible that since the pain is in your neck as well as your back that you may have pulled something. Ever since I was diagnosed with CKD, I’ve become misaligned constantly and need adjustments from my DO. I lost a lot of core body strength which seems to be happening a lot with all of my friends that have autoimmune diseases and my CKD is IGAN which is autoimmune based.
When I'm careless, I pay for it and have a big bottle of Tylenol to help, also I sleep on the other side. Roll over Beethoven. Breathing seem to be necessary. Long ago, I switched to a controllable hospital type bed (not a real fancy one) which also helps with feet and leg swelling. Every year or so I treat myself to new pillows. It really helped me to get my PH balanced too. I still have to cut the grass but a self propelled mower reduces the effort and I still get the exercise. Still, with all that, sometimes Just have to grit my teeth and go on figuring I just have to pay for a misspent youth. Good luck.
