Yes, I was about 3 years ago.

I am sedated when they do a colonoscopy but due to my CKD condition they modify it. I am potassium restricted. Important you let the Gastro Doctor and anesthesiologist know of your CKD and status. They might request more blood work.

My grf was 59 but next blood test was 90 so I'm not sure what that means. Don't fill so we'll, sore all over to day. Happy to find this site. Will watch for a while.

Yes the protocol is sedation for the procedure. For my first one they couldn't get an IV so I had it done with no meds at all. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. From then on I never had sedation for one. Guess my pain tolerance is pretty high. Blessings

After the prep which was a gallon of liquid prep ( due to kidney, this is the prep used in hospitals as to not damage kidneys) one is prepped for colonoscopy the next day.

So did you complete this prep at home? And, what specifically did you drink with this prep?

Thanks:)

I did complete the prep at home.. just mixed with water. Tasted awful so I sucked in hard candy with each gulp. Definitely helped. The colonoscopy was under sedation, only issue was pain with blood presssure measurement. It was complete and left for home within two hrs.

Thanks! My medical team have been debating with one another as to whether I should get my colonoscopy this year as scheduled or not. Since there wasn't consensus my PCP had me do a Cologuard test. It came back normal so while I don't know if I have polyps, we at least know there is no active cancer right now. I'm hoping we'll decide to do the colonoscopy next year. My mother passed away from colorectal cancer and they have found one polyp. in me during my first colonoscopy; although, none sense and the first wasn't malignant.
