Urine test

I am hypothyroid, but lately I have been urinating blood that comes and goes. Lower left back pains, lower right back pains. Both areas radiate to the same areas in the front. 5 days ago, I urinated a lot of blood with sediment in it. Today, I urinated dark yellow with a tiny blood clot. I always use urine strips at home to keep an eye on everything. My Creatinine was below normal. Blood was 10 trace, protein was trace +-, Specific gravity was ovee 1.030 " off the chart". I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. My question is, does kidney failure cause this? People are telling me bladder cancer and now I'm nervous. When I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, my eGFR number was in the CKD level 2 area. My pains are consistent with the kidney areas or the tubes leading to the bladder. My urine is not foamy. I have several autoimmune diseases and suspect this to be Lupus with Lupus Nephritis. I'm trying to ease my mind on bladder cancer. A pic will be attached showing the blood from a week ago. It is not like that now.

I found out I had several 4mm sized kidney stones in my ureter and clots. My kidney function was good according to what the nurses told me. I haven't seen the blood results yet, but my fears ended.

I’m so happy for you and glad you went to have it checked out.

I’m a retired physician assistant and we should never delay any abnormal symptoms as it is always better to act quickly to prevent a negative outcome.

The earlier a diagnosis is the quicker the treatment and recovery.

People often let fear of cancer etc. cause delays of caring for themselves when most times cancer isn’t the cause.

Best wishes for your complete and quick recovery.

Love and prayers

Right. I have no plans on any cancer treatment and since I have other autoimmune diseases, this scared me. I was afraid of kidney failure/dialysis or hearing bladder cancer. My doctor said he thought it was bladder cancer which caused me to wait on getting help. Looking through my labs, my kidney function is still showing eGFR 72 which is where it has been for 2 years. Ironically, my labs list Vasculitis. This makes since with the symptoms i've had for 2 years now, so I guess seeking help was a blessing. Now on to treating vasculitis. The ct scan says my kidneys, liver, pancreas, spleen, gall bladder looked good.

I'm getting an ANCA and ANA test next week to confirm or rule out Vasculitis. My doctor seems perplexed on why Vasculitis was the only thing listed next to my white blood cells that were high or low. After researching my results, Lupus, Vasculitis and Lymphomas produce the same results.

Good luck with your tests. Thanks for the info. Didn’t know all three were possible. V

Praying for the best outcome.
