Hi and welcome to the community. It can be hard on folks finding out that dialysis is close and if a transplant is possible that should be good news for the long term. Are your parents close by and if not do you have friends in your area that could help provide some support when needed?
Have you decided on the modality for dialysis? If not, you can contact the local dialysis centers near you and ask to make a visit to see how things work. It could put your mind at ease to an extent. You can also ask your nephrologist to smooth the way by contacting them for you and setting up a visit. I'm not near dialysis but I've done that at my local center and while I'm traveling, I try to visit as many centers as I can to get a more rounded picture. If you ask, they may also be able to see if any of their patients are willing to speak to you about dialysis during your visit.
You've found this site so come here as often as you need to either share or ask for help with any issues that come up. There are a lot of folks here who are at every stage of CKD and will be willing to share their knowledge with you.
I’m sorry you’re having to deal with so much. I am nearing dialysis also so I understand your feelings. I’m glad you have your parents to help you through. Praying for you. God can do anything 😀
Try kidneyschool.org for info and National Kidney Foundation has a mentor program where they can match you with a person for support. Best of luck.
