Decreasing GFR

Hi all, new here but wanted to ask a question. I am 48 I have stage 3 congestive heart failure and I take 80mg of Lasix a day plus 25 mg of spironolactone. These are both diuretics. My blood work showed that my GFR has dropped 20 points in less than 2 months. I was at 104 now less then 2 months later 84. Should I be concerned?

A drop like this is always concerning to us, but, it is important to have another blood test to see if this was an anomaly, or if there is a real problem. You could have been dehydrated, you could have over-exerted yourself in exercise, you could have eaten foods that make your creatinine soar, thus making your egfr lower. And, it could be medication caused.

Request a follow-up test, educate yourself in how to take care of your kidneys, and ask lots of questions of your doctor and of those on this forum.

Yes, a drop of 20 points is something to be concerned about. You should discuss this with your primary doctor. People such as myself who are suffering from CKD have GFRs below 60. It sounds like you're in much better shape. With your other medical conditions it sounds like you should be seeing a doctor quite frequently. I'm hoping for the best outcome for you.
