Having 10 year Colonoscopy.
Offered magnesium citrate which has been most effective with my IBS. What preps have been offered to other members?

I was told by my nephrologist that I should never take mag citrate. Said it was hard on my kidney. There are other things the GI doctors can use. What my GI doctor gave me worked effectively & all at once for my colonoscopy last year. I just can't remember the name and but it was more kidney friendly.
I had a colonoscopy last fall. My nephrologist said it was fine to use the magnesium citrate which is what I did. My eGFR at the time was 38. Good luck to you!
Thanks! This will be in March or April at the 10 year mark.
I am allergic to Nu Tely.
Hope everything comes out alright. (Pun intended)
Lol.. You are the greatest! This will be in March/ April when it is 10 years, but saw new GI Thursday. My trusted doc decided a change was in order and is teaching FT...
Will keep you in the loop.
I have colonoscopy in a week, (ugh!) and Gastroenterologist this time has prescribed Golitely only for prep. Will let you know how it worked.
I had my colonoscopy last September. I used magnesium citrate without any damage to my kidneys. Clean as a whistle afterward.
Maybe part of it is with mag citrate, that I have had a transplant and that is why it is considered a "NO-NO"!
Could be. Thanks for responding. Please keep in touch!
