Did you talk to the prescribing physician when you were given this medication? Perhaps the physician gave you a starting dose and depending on how you react and your symptoms either improve or not may, in fact, move you up to a higher dosage. When any physician prescribes a medication always ask about the dosage for how long before they will look at it again. Do you take your blood pressure readings at home on a daily basis?

Thank you. :) I have been on it 25mg for years, even before I got CKD. I asked him about raising the dose (to help with swelling) and he said that can't be done, with no explanation. I am trying to go to a better doctor.
