HELP: Stage 3, I need help w food choices.

Help is here. I've got some suggestions for you. Try davita.com for a couple of things. On their main page, you'll find a tab for Recipes. When you click on that tab you'll find a lot of kidney-friendly recipes. Each one provides you with the mineral content and whether or not the information is designed for people with Diabetes and CKD or on Dialysis or not. I have Type 2 Diabetes and even though the recipe says it's good for diabetics I still make minor adjustments. I also have Hypertension so if it calls for a small amount of salt, I don't add any.

If you are from the USA that same website will allow you to find a free 90-minute Kidney Smart class in your area. This class will answer many of the questions you have and calm any fears or concerns you may have. If you are not in the USA go to kidneyschool.org/mods/ and there you'll find a series of modules that you can watch that explains what you need to know about CKD and give you lots of information and allow you to come up with questions to ask your doctor(s).

You might want to review all of your lab results and ask for a referral to see a Renal Dietitian. Bring your lab results with you and the Renal Dietitian will work with you on developing a meal plan that will work for you and address any highs and/or lows with your labs.

Continue to track all of your meds and be careful of taking any prescription or OTC meds or supplements that are not good for your CKD and other health issues. I use drugs.com to find out if there are any issues with mine and if the dosages are proper. Don't take any supplements without getting approval from your doctor(s).

There are several other things to do, but I don't want to overwhelm you. Come back often and you'll find lots of people here to help you deal with CKD and any other health concerns you have.
