The plump calling

Hello,

I am a newbie here. Thought of getting back my health and be fit. I have always been the plump one with absolutely no self-control and I fall for temptations. I need to loose around 14 kg to get back to my recommended BMI. It would be great if people who are like me would be willing to share their ideas whenever time permits.

Welcome!

You've made the first step by coming here, there is lots of support and advice.

I'm the eldest of 5 and the only one with a weight problem. My only sister is thin as a pin and can resist anything.

I've found that sorting the shopping out first is crucial. Chuck it out if you know it will cause a problem later. Even my dearly beloved has given up buying biscuits ('cos I'll only eat them), but does love pies and crumbles. I make my own with very little sugar, oats and a little flour and I'll have a small helping.

Self control is so hard at the beginning and is worse if you think that you'll never have any treats again - that's a sure way to fall off the wagon. I just think of the over all week and build 2 or 3 into the overall picture.

Sign up for a weigh in day as well, I find it keeps me accountable.

Set little goals, such as the next 500gm or 1 k. Don't think 'I'll never shift all this', just 'the next little bit.

Baby steps, baby steps.

good luck
