Beach Holiday Meal & Drinks Plan

Hi there, I'm lucky enough to be going on a (beach) holiday in two weeks woohoo!

However exciting it is, it's also scary to think I'll have to show my belly all the time, so I started planning what I'd eat and drink, so I can both enjoy my holiday and feel confident in a bikini :) I thought it might be interesting to some, as it's beach season, so here it is:

Breakfast options:

low-fat Skyr or dairy-free Yoghurt (if Skyr not available) with a banana ~300 kcal

Berries/Fruit with 1 Belvita soft bakes ~ 300kcal

Lunch & Dinner:

Salad with lean meat (chicken breast, beef strips) no dressing ~300 - 400 kcal

Salad with fish (prawns, etc. ) no dressing ~250 kcal

Drinks:

Lots of water (plain or with cucumber/mint to fight water retention)

Peppermint tea and oil (helps with belly bloating too)

Alcohol:

Light beer or white wine ~170 kcal

Gin & diet tonic ~ 60kcal

Rum with diet Coke ~ 115 kcal

Vodka and soda ~ 60 kcal

I would stay away from any refined carbs and sweets, as my belly really doesn't like them. Especially dough and bread, they get me bloated instantly and it lasts for at least a day... ugh. Sadly, one of the best things to eat in Bulgaria (where I'm going) is a pastry :D

Let me know if you have further ideas, so I can expand the menu :D I put the foods that I usually eat, so the list is a bit short.

I'm also planning to stay active (I love all the beach sports - volley, jogging, walks, yoga, gymnastics) so it should help too :).

I think I should be fine eating this - my belly won't be bloated and I'll still be able to enjoy the fresh local food :)

Happy summer everyone! :)

Great to have such a plan YesICan13 - that you can refer to when faced with lots of choices.

Make sure that whatever else, you enjoy your holiday! Hope the sun shines every day and I am sure however self conscious you are about exposing your belly, there will be some far larger ones on display!

It’s always good to have a plan, however I wouldn’t choose low fat products as the original, untampered versions are better nutritionally as well as keeping you full for longer 😊

Have a wonderful time 😊

Noted, thanks! 😊

With me it's more psychological, especially when I'm traveling I'm extra anxious subconsciously and think about food all the time :/

I've always found when in hot countries never feel like lunch or if do just have fresh fruit. Your plan sounds fine and I'd say just enjoy your holiday without going too mad.
