Just joined desperate for a weight loss. I have been steadily gaining weight all.year and tried slimming world (which worked for me in the past but didn't this time)..have used other apps but seem.stuck in a rut. I have woken up after going for a curry last night and feel horrible . All my clothes are tight and I feel very sluggish. Also my wine intake has crept up. Just done my BMI and it's 25,4 - 1st 11 to lose to get to the middle of the healthy range. So here goes - haven't really planned but will play it by ear!!

Hello Ali_ali and welcome,

An administrator will reply to you. In the meantime, you may want to check out the NHS 12 week plan which many people here are following. You can find it on the right hand side if you scroll down on the 'Home' page.

Good luck!

Welcome Ali_ali to this forum. As much as possible try and avoid restrictive diets/programmes because immediately you stop following them, you tend to gain weight. as recommended above look and the NHS 12weesk programme and compute your daily calories range and closely start monitoring your calories . Start off at your higher range and reduce slowly as you adapt. Ensure that your meals are healthy and satiating to curb cravings.

Definitely work on your wine intake, its loaded with calories unless you got the discipline to restrict yourself to add it within your daily calorie range :-)

All the very best!!

Thank you! Yes I've downloaded the app for the NHS Choices 12 week programme - i do tend to be a bit 'all-or-nothing' with diets so I will try a more sensible approach this time!

Hi there and welcome. To get rid of the sluggish feeling is try getting out there and exercise in the fresh air. Then try eating 3 healthy meals with small snacks in between. You can do this and pat yourself on the back with every goal/accomplishment you finish. That will give you encouragement to keep going on towards your goal. Best wishes on your journey.
