I joined two weeks or so ago but didn't act on it. Today I have finally opened week 1 of the program and this is day 1. No idea how to jiggle things as I work nights so my food diary will span two days. I think the safest bet is to run from teatime to breakfast (my food day) when I'm working my seven nights on then switch to a normal food diary when I'm back to daylight hours. The other option is to note the meals on that particular day and start the new food diary after midnight. Provided I consume the correct calories over the week I should hopefully lose weight.
Good luck with your first day Hidden If you have not joined a weigh in yet then why not join today's you can find it on the Home page in Events on the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile.
Have a look at the Daily Diary for any tips on meals.
Hi AliParsnips Have to admit it does sound a little complicated with your shift work but as you said its making sure you have the right amount of calories over the whole week. Good luck on your journey to the new you
I have been working night shift for a long time and it is only in the past couple of years I am getting to grips of the eating side of it. Regular eating was my major concern so I worked on that before making sure I had three meals a day.
I tend to work my day midnight to midnight when calculating my food. I have set times for when I eat: 8am, 12noon, 4pm, 8pm, 12midnight, 4am, 8am etc.
Breakfast or Snack: 8am and 8pm
Dinner: 12noon or 12midnight
Lunch: 4pm or 4am
I have been using this for the past 6 months and it has made all the difference.
That sounds a really good idea. I try to eat three meals a day and have brought my "lunch" and "breakfast" into work with me tonight. I've got fruit for snacks. Alas I cannot guarantee regular meals because of the type of work I do.
