20 year old wanting to lose weight

Hello everyone,

my name is Laura and I am 20 years old. I have struggled with my weight since I was about 9 years old and have decided that enough is enough, and that I want to get healthier and lose weight about 25-30 kg ideally. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and also any recipes that are good I would appreciate aswell.

    I get my recipes from Change 4 life website and British heart foundation pages

    I also am in this to lose about 25-30kg and am now on my 2nd week

  • I have a recipe for slow cooker salsa chicken that is great. I usually make up 5 litres and alternate so that 1 day I eat for lunch the next day for dinner. The hubby and kids love it too. Let me know if you would like me to post it here.

  • This recipe serves 10 people but I ususally double up and make 5 litres:

    Slow cooker salsa chicken

    1kg of chicken breasts cut into pieces

    1 cup of salsa (I use old el paso)

    1 cup of canned tomatoes

    2 tbsp of taco seasoning

    ½ cup of water

    1 cup of onions diced finely

    ½ cup carrots shredded

    3 tbsp sour cream

    Spring onions to garnish

    1. Place chicken in the slow cooker

    2. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the chicken then layer the vegetables and salsa on top.

    3. Pour half a cup of water over the mixture, set on low and cook for 6-8 hours

    4. When ready to serve, stir in the sour cream

    Serves 10

    Calories 164.9 Kcal/portion

    Fat 2.5 g

    Carbs 7.3 g

    Protein 27.6g

    This has turned out to be the favourite in our house that is why I have to double up and make more. Enjoy!!

    Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

    Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

    The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺
