After searching on the internet for a diet plan I came across this site.. I need some help.. for the last 4 weeks I've been going to the gym & swimming at least 5 times a week. I've done kettle bell/Pilates/spin classes but I haven't lost a pound (I do feel better for exercising) :-(... so Its obvious that I need to look at my diet now.. for years I've not eaten breakfast... sometimes no lunch either and then binged at night.. since starting at the gym I've been eating porridge for breakfast.. jacket potato with tuna/cheese for lunch... and then tea some protein & veg and pasta...... but my danger time is still in the evening when I fancy a glass of wine which then leads to some chocolate or crisps. Im 45, mum of 3, work full time & have about 6 stones to lose..... I'm just fed up of being on a diet and just want to feel good in myself so fingers crossed I can stick to this plan and get the weight loss started.

Welcome to the NHS Weight Loss Forum. It's a very friendly, encouraging and helpful site, where we are all on the same journey to health.
If you haven't already, please read the Welcome Newbies post. It's in the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile). It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating. Also take a look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. You may also like to check out how many calories you should have each day using the BMI checker.
Perhaps consider joining in our challenges, they're fun to do and help with motivation.
Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you 'follow' Lowcal and moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page. The weigh in is entirely voluntary, but I find it helps keep me accountable.
Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration. 😄
Enjoy the forum, and I wish you success with your goals.
It is hard to find motivation when we lead such busy lives 😟 try not to get disheartened because you haven't seen results all the steps you have taken are putting you on the right path. I am a very slow loser 16 lbs since May and in the past this would make me give up but this forum has got me to the right mental space if I calorie count and exercise it will come off and there is no time limit my body will do what it will 😀 I have kids and have been using the hairy dieters books as there are lots of recipes that they like too
Well done on all your hard work at the gym, and also oN maintaining your weight which is not easy 😊 You are doing all the right things and just need a few less calories to create a deficit and those pounds will start to,fall away 😊
