I gave up

I gave up and gained all those lost pounds back. Can't find motivation, feeling sad and stressed and there seems to be a way out but I somehow can't get back on that way. I need motivation to stay active here on this page and in real life.

10 kgs isn't much, you can easily put that off until Ramadan :)

I feel your pain. I've put on 8 lbs in the last month but I've not been well struggling with a torn tendon in my shoulder and pain. I've given up for a while until I have an op on 2nd June. Perhaps have a little break from it for a week and go back refreshed. It's very hard to keep motivated. Have you got a special occasion or an event coming up that you could plan as a mini goal? don't set your goal too high...perhaps just 3 or 4 lbs to keep in manageable. I hope you get your motivation back. It's worth it. I will do the same. I've got a family member coming over from OZ in August so that's my next goal. Good luck

Hiya :) First of all, you can't admit defeat just yet! Finding that motivation can be really tough, especially when stressed out. If I may suggest, just take a bit of a break (a guilt free break) where you don't have to worry about ANYTHING, even if you have taken a break already. It could be a day or two but getting a bit of stress relief goes a long way. It allows you stop worrying about the little things that might get you down and get to focus on the bigger picture. Nobody here would judge, we're here to see each other back on the right path. So in short, don't worry! Enjoy life and when you're feeling up for it, just write another post telling us how you feel.

Hope this helps, if not, I wish you the best of luck x

Owen

Thanks Alpaca, this is really helpful, my break was too long actually but yes i need a day or two to just reset and jump back up again. I don't know how to do that though.

Hi Mamiyou,

It's good to see you again, and I did wonder where you'd gone. Noticed you'd not been around for a while. Really sorry to hear you've been feeling sad and stressed, and I'm really glad you posted today, which is why I've clicked 'Like' next to your post, as I like the fact you've been brave and posted, despite difficult circumstances.

I don't know if you'd maybe like to join us for the 'Re-boot' Challenge? I know it started on Tuesday, but you could still do it week by week, and add your reflections to the correctly labelled weekly Reflection posts - the first one is going to be posted by me on Tuesday 17th May 2016, and details of the Challenge are here, if you would like to read about it:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

You'd be very welcome to join us, as would anyone else who might be reading this.

Anyway, I really hope your weekend is a chance for you to relax and de-stress - not sure if you get time off on weekends, but I hope it goes ok.

Glad to see you back, and keep posting. There's always someone around here, or almost always!

Have a good day.

Lowcal :-)

Thank you Zest , I'll sure join the challenge, I guess this is what I needed to see today. I already planned my meals for tomorrow and set myself 3 little goals to complete and this is how I'm going to do it this time, day by day.I will make sure to check in here daily for more motivation and support. :)

Good to hear from you Mamiyou, I hope everything goes well for you, I really do. I'm having some "bad" drinks with a friend today, but aim to be good tomorrow and on Sunday, and not to totally spoil weigh-in on Monday. Maybe someday I will be under 90 kg, not very soon I suppose.
