Still trying, after all this time!

Hi Everyone!  Have been on this diet plan for the past 14 weeks - but only started to write on here last week.  Bit disappointed with my (lack of) weight loss - actually 3kgs so far - but am now hoping for better things to come as I have a treadmill which is I'm sure going to help me enormously!!  I do have an excuse as I suffer from heart failure - have a defibrillator - so have to take things steady on the exercise front.  Also, probably the fact of my age (69) means that it is difficult to make a difference.  That's my excuse anyway!  Fortunately, I don't have a lot to shift, but half a stone would be wonderful.

Keep up the good work all of you - you are an inspiration!

Good morning Pansie, I think you should be proud of your 3kg loss especially as you don't have a lot to lose.

I have a treadmill and have the radio on when I use it, which I have to say, is very not as often as I should.

I've lost 12lb in 8 weeks but it's the fitness, I feel so much better and know when I've been off the eating plan as I get sluggish again.

So, here I go again, trying to get back on and 'go blonde', no still not there!! When I lose my 1 stone.

Age is fine Pansie let's enjoy it.

Good luck with this week x

Keep with it I too can't do the exercise I have a bad back so it's only gentle exercise for me but I have stuck to the diet and it is coming off slowly we all would like it to drop off but that's not healthy so stick with it and do your best.

Welcome Pansie. It is a bit harder when we're older, but not impossible. As long as we eat less than our body needs (our TDEE) , which in our sixties is less than we needed in our forties !!

I am almost 64 and have now lost all my excess weight (2st)  by eating better and walking whenever I can, rather than car or bus. It did take me a year to lose it, slowly, but the the good thing about slowly is that its easier to maintain it. Keep doing what you're doing, you'll get there.

Hi to all 3 of you who replied to me.  You're all really encouraging!  I'm going to try that bit harder now - i.e. smaller portions are on the menu!  Keep exercising on the treadmill - Every morning - doing a mile now in 20 minutes - so it's all going to help.  As you say, age is no barrier!!

Hope you all have a lovely day, and eventually get down to the weight of your dreams.

I'll keep you posted.

Ooh, I am sure the walking will be great for your weight loss and your fitness, it is something that most of us can do, no matter our weight or fitness level.
