Please post kms/steps/miles for Sunday 24 January.
Today we will be climbing the stairs of the twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We can do this. After what we have achieved this week, this will be a challenge that we can do together. It will all be worth it when you see the view of how far you've come πππ
We are now on Day 30 of our voyage around the world. 7 more days before we reach Hongkong. Lots more wonderful places to visit including Philippines and Cambodia. Can't wait πππ
I did have to walk to the fridge and the stove and the toilet a few times, therefore I clocked up all of 1km. I am well, it's just been a really hot and lazy day - we've both stayed in the aircon watching the series Orange is the New Black...started season 2 now
That's going to be a bit of a challenge with the 2,170 steps straight up into the sky. Do we have all day? Are there stopping off places on the way up? The most I've ever done is 900m in the Alps. But hey - I'm up for the challenge!
12.7 km today. Longish walk in the English Garden (a huge park just north of the centre of Munich) down into the city itself, where I bought myself some roasted chestnuts as a reward for teetering around on some very icey paths. The rest was just pottering. Wanted to maybe do a run this evening, but I don't think it's going to happen. Will continue with C25K instead tomorrow morning.
we will get there, many a time my husband goes racing up the steps when I am on an escalator or trying to climb one of those spiral towers in a castle but I just keep pausing and continuing as I want to see the view. I asked him today could he remember ever being able to pick me up 46 years ago and he said he thought he did once ,so I warned him he would soon have to try again as I hit 2 st loss today !!
The towers look very challenging but are only 88 stories high (each). According to my Fitbit I've already climbed 29 flights and 10.5km so between us we should quickly get to see the amazing views. Well done everyone π
Our car could do with a washing, but it'll only get dirty again!
I've not been on my bike for a long time I always do a Mrs Doyle and fall off so I just stick to walking and going up and down my stairs. It's amazing how quickly those visits to the loo add up after drinking lots of cold water. I also make a point of carrying things one at a time to add extra trips up and down the stairs. Worth a try? π€
Today I clocked 7.9km walking, and 3.4km running. I drew up a 5 to 10K plan for running, to increase distance obvs!, but sadly IBS didn't let me complete it. Still, I got out there and exercised for an hour, and walked the dogs morning and night... I was going to go back and try to swim again but realise I am really tired and kinda looking forward to being a couch potato. oh dear! It's weigh in tomorrow!!!
ps I am not fond of stairs. But I can now cope with the four flights at one office I visit, most times, almost no problem... I used to take the lift!
Aaaah, the best laid plans You've had a great day though and really clocked up some great K's! It's only this challenge that' kept me going today, because I would much rather have slobbed out!
Yes, weigh-in! You'll be just fine
I'm absolutely hopeless with stairs and I've got nowhere to practice them.
Thanks more less! This challenge is a great way of getting us to do a little bit extra π Check out your kms!!! I don't have room for indoor gym equipment but I guess I could go to the gym- there's one attached to the swimming pool I believe π But I'd rather be able to run outdoors if at all possible... However I have been told that using a cross trainer would be good to help the shoulders keep as much movement as possible so I guess I really should head over there...
Well, managed to get rid of the wellies for this mornings walk. The guests have left but must have slipped the dog a fiver as he had me all over the place today. Clocked up 14226 steps, 9.5 kms as a result. Back to the old routine this week so hoping to up the mileage a wee bit. Dreading the weigh in tomorrow π
Hi Moreless, you can add another 3.4 km to my tally today. I did do that run - and it's the fault of this website. If I hadn't written down that I was thinking of doing it I would have just pushed the thought aside. As it was it bugged me all evening, along the lines of "Go on you lazy so-and-so, you know you want to. Come on you're lagging behind on the C25k, you can get into week 4 earlier if you go now etc". Normally only get feelings like that about chocolate and crisps! My husband looked at me as if I'd gone bonkers when I got my gear on.
I bought a super comfortable saddle for my bike, but it is still painful after a while. I opt for short sharp bursts, rather than extended periods of sitting.
I wouldn't be without the stand though, it's been a godsend.
Ok, before I forget, as is my habit, I shall post my score, but first a couple of things to share with you all:
1. I have a new rowing machine! Woohoo! Unfortunately, it's going to take a bit of getting used to. I can hardly pull the "oars" on the lowest setting! How week and feeble am I?
2. The rowing machine sits low down on the floor and is extremely difficult to get on and off of. I astounded myself and my OH by being able to get myself up off the floor with NO assistance! YIPEE!! I can't tell you how happy this makes me.........the simple pleasures in life
Well done getting off the floor - I once couldn't get myself up too.
I think you need to use your legs a fair with a rowing machine - you probably know this but I remember when I first tried I didn't realise quite how much you need to use your legs
Lucca gave me some great tips and with this machine, I could cheat and scoot back and forward without using the oars, but as it's supposed to be doing something about these wings of mine, I'd only actually be cheating myself!
I've had 3 falls when I was by myself and had the devil's own job of getting myself back on my feet. It's a big relief to my OH and me, knowing that I won't be stuck again
Well done- great numbers π Where do you feel the rowing? Legs, bum, arms, shoulders, back?! I used to really enjoy a rowing machine and I absolutely love kayaking! Needless to say it was a complete fail for me when we went kayaking in France this summer- the mind says go but the shoulders say NO! π
Yes, all of the above!! The real pain is my knees though as it's a tight bend as you scoot forwards. However, I shall get used to it as I have the walking and cycling
I haven't done any kayaking since I was a kid, but I just couldn't stay upright in it!
I had some problems with my left ear (what's wrong with my health lately?!? I am getting worse and worse instead of better O_o) that left me dizzy. I could walk, but staying at my laptop makes me puke...
2.98 k today, is it Windows all the way up?? I hate heights, perhaps you could take me some pictures from the top and I'll get my steps in walking round the base??
Lol! He hasn't been out on his rd bike for ages cos I don't like him out in poor visibility (someone has to pay the mortgage ) He's fast asleep now muttering about his legs
hi Lizzy just a miserable 565 steps today been very poorly spent most of today in bed hopefully will improve tomorrow many thanks Alan xx
hi there sorry i called you Lizzy and your not, can't you tell ive been up most of the night i'm replying to someone that's not you million of apologies Alan
Don't know if I'd manage all those stairs, but the promise of a cocktail or two at the top might helpπ
Today's km:
Exercise bike - 13.2 km
Steps - 1864 (mainly from supermarket shopping)
Been a busy day and only just did my exercise bike ride! Shopping, cleaning, cooking and ironing
My mum is coming tomorrow for a couple of days, Hoping to get some swimming and some more exercise biking early tomorrow before mum arrives about 10am.
Just gonna have a large glass of water and go to bed.
Not lazy at all Don, everybody deserves a break sometimes
4.8 miles for me yesterday. A little walk with dogs then a 2 mile run. Trying to get back into running after many years c25k on the NHS website. It's free.
Thought I'd posted but not sure if it went when pressed the I submit button and I can't see it 9.04 km for Sunday. Which included a 4km run/jog ππ
