Looking for help to lose weight

Hello I am looking for someone to help me lose weight. I have been diagnosed with hypermobility Ehlers Danlos syndrome and due to an severe ankle injury I am no longer allowed to run and I have put on so much weight. I now weight 18stone. The physio has advised me to lose weight and I was running/ jogging every morning. Due to the severity of my injury I am no longer allowed to run. Can anyone help me? I am determined to show my physio when I see her in a months time I can lose this weight. Many thanks.

  • Hi there, have a look at the NHS 12 week weight loss plan, I'm coming to the end of week7 and have lost 1 stone so far ... I do it and use MyFitnessPal alongside to count calories and help with portion control ... Good luck on your journey 🌸

  • Does it focus on reducing fructose, reducing insulin/IGF-1 levels, providing adequate natural-protein and natural-fat to improve collagen production, immunity and autophagy?

  • Thank you I will try anything to help.

  • Here's a sample meal plan:

    Soft Cheese

    2 Eggs any style

    2 Serving spoons vegetable casserole.

    Cheese or nuts

    1 small barely-ripe banana or 5 (preservative-free) dried-apricots

3 oatcakes or quinoa (90g cooked weight).

1 medium sweet potato or 1 cob sweetcorn or chickpeas (100g cooked weight).

non-starchy roast vegetables or stir-fry greens

palm-size meat or fish or seafood or poultry or game

    whipped double-cream and/or coconut.

Adjust unspecified portion sizes to facilitate individual weight-management requirements.

  • Thank you.

  • I too have HYpermobility syndrome, and am limited in my activity. Can you swim or walk? I walk the dog everyday, but I'm struggling at the moment with painful feet, plantar fascilitis... I certainly couldn't run! I manage my weight using myfitness pal app, and limit exercise to just walking. It is do- able, you can loose weight calorie counting without running..... Good luck with your journey, it's not easy when you get injured easily I know!

  • Thank you yes I can walk. I walk 5 miles everyday for my job. I have mild hypermobility in my legs and feet but severe in my hands. I have been running for a while but my injury is stopping me know. I also have a dog but I am on limited walking at the moment. I love swimming but have no swimming pools near by. I am going to try and get to one at least once a week starting from next week. Thank you again and good luck to you too. πŸ˜€
