Tape measure vs Scales?

I have only been doing NHS 12 week weight loss programme for 4 days so far!

On the first day I started I logged my weight down (as shown on the scales) and BMI as I was told this by the hospital that day as I suffer from PCOS. I didn't however measure any part of my body with a tape measure.

Is this an important factor to do when loosing weight or does looking at weight loss on the scales have the same effect?

  • Its not something you have to do, but i along with many others have found that by doing the measurements, even on weeks where the scales dont move your measurements may have gone down. Its a great visual aid, why not write them all down then re-check them every couple of weeks, you will be amazed at how the sizes go down. Good luck and all the best with the plan
