This may sound strange but can any one recommend scales that are pretty accurate, i end up using two and go for the heaviest one so I am not deluding myself
I really need new ones that are accurate or don`t change when you get on and off!
Thank you for any replies ...x

Hi, I spent ages researching expensive scales but I happened to be in morrisons and saw some really cheap salter ones. I thought I'd give them a go until I decided which other ones to get and they are brilliant. I think they were about £15 and are the best scales I've had. No matter how many times or where you step on they always read the same. Hope this helps
I will take a look at salter ones and see whats out there , both mine differ if i get on an off and are about 4 pounds out from each other so I always take the higher ones but its silly having two!!!
Id like to know too. I have electric and normal/dial scales. I have tried a range of scales belonging to parents and friends and the electric scales are always heavier by between 3 and 5lb.
I suppose the key is to just use one scale to ensure you're getting a consistent reading and try measuring with a tape measure.
Yep i think measuring and clothes are best to judge but i do like to know what i weigh so i can know I am going in the right direction!
Will try and check out the salter ones , not that bothered about them being too technical just good old fashioned ones would do! Will post if i find some !!
Hi Midnight-munchie. I also have looked into this and found that firstly, electronic scales are more accurate, as the mechanical scales can be affected by heat.
Electronic scales, when first used will weigh the item placed on the scale platform, plus the platform itself. When they are used subsequently, the scales will show the weight of the item placed on the scale platform only. If the scales are moved at all, they will need resetting. This is done by standing on the scales until the weight is registered and then getting off the scales and using them as normal.
Where scales are used by the general public, in places such as Post Offices, the scales should never be moved, without being re calibrated.
Some people have the luxury of being able to place the scales in a room and to leave them there, so they only have to be calibrated the once.
I hope this helps.
Personally, I would rather concentrate on the overall trend of my weight, using one set of scales in a consistent way.
Definitely helps thankyou Tewson I think its because i move mine around so they probably don`t calibrate properly so will try to set them somewhere and check them and leave them! Thank you
Have to agree. I get a more constant reading from digital scales on a particular bit of my vinyl bathroom floor. Avoid carpet at all costs! This is the designated "Weighing area"... or should that be Weeping and Weighing area?

I also have a 'designated weighing area' - just in front of my bathroom sink, with the scales stowed safely out of sight when not in use. It's so sad! We should all have triumphant altars to our wonderful weights, and stop hiding the scales behind our bathroom doors...
Thats where mine are normally propped behind my bathroom door and so need to get a better place to leave them ready so they don`t get so jiggled about !
Thank you everyone weeping and weighing is a definite and getting on and off a few times praying doesn`t seem to help although on a really bad week one leg on one leg off does wonders!
I'm considering measuring my water displacement when I have a bath.
I bought weight watchers scales in Boots. They were reduced to £7! Thought it was too good to be true so Googled the model no. Whilst in store and they had good reviews. So I bought them.
I have been happy with their accuracy.
I do keep them in the same spot and agree that if they are moved they need re calibrating.
