Compression Fracture Question

In the past 3 weeks my mother age 75 fell and she

had a compression fracture on L1. She caught the flu

about the same time and landed in the hospital with

very high fevers for 2 weeks. She is still in recovery so

they didn't get to do surgery or cement what they need to

to fix that. My question is - How long do they have to go in

and fix that for her? We expect her to be at the nursing home

for at least another 3 weeks. The flu was so bad that she's

talking jibberish at times. She was is still weak and exhausted.

although before full of energy and acted 50 years old.
