Has anyone else experienced this at their 12 week scan? The measurement is apparently accepted at 3.5mm or below and mine was 3.9mm. We have been referred to a specialist unit at another hospital next week but I'm naturally now worrying myself sick!!
My consultant mentioned the risk of chromosomal abnormalities but they won't know the full picture until my blood test results come back and I get a more detailed scan done at the specialist unit.

Hi there. I had exactly this....3.9mm. We had a specialist ultra sound have a second look (living in Germany so this is standard) and she recommended a non invasive chromosome test. Had a nervous few days, but it came back all clear. Got to find out we were having a girl. Turns out she was bigger than usual but no other issues and was born average weight. I would say don't worry yet..but of course I did. Hope you get clear answers.
Sorry you're going through such a worrying time. I hope all works out OK in the end. Just for a positive story, a good friend of my sister in law had to have an amniocentesis as the risk of DS was high. Very worrying times but everything came back fine and she gave birth to a healthy girl in September. Sending you lots of love x
Hi, I have been there! Just go with all testing you are being recommended! I had the same issue, had to go through 2 CVS procedures and unfortunately the baby had Turners syndrome. Had a scan at the start of the week that showed an increase in the initial NT measurement, as well as fluid being present along the babies back down to his/her bum! They also identified a cystic hygroma! Had a NIPT done which came back all low risk but I am so petrified! Was given an 85% chance that the baby has a fetal abnormality! Have an amnio booked in for 2 weeks. Will try and take this amnio and go from there. x
Hi, just remember, there is never a good or bad choice! I am sincerely wishing you the best of luck for things to turn up okay! I remember I used to be called for a scan just to hear its heartbeat before to the procedure! I know how hard this is, but you need to stress out all channels and see how manageable this situation can be in the future! Good luck my dear, xx
