Feeling rough early on

Hi all,

I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and I constantly feel like crap or tired. I’ve had a migraine over the last 3 days and have been off of work. Today the migraine has eased up a little but I feel sick and achy. I’m on my way to work now and want nothing more than to go home and rest. I’ve hardly slept the last few weeks so being tired is really getting to me. I was up most of last night with stomach cramps that I think are growing pains and gas (sorry tmi) but I’m just uncomfortable and down. Any advice?

Hey, I don't really have much advice to be honest. The first Trimester is rough, I'm just coming up to my second and feeling less rough than I have been. I'm being told by 16 weeks I should get a second wind and feel a bit more like myself. All i would say for now is self care.. rest and sleep/nap when you can, don't overdo it and dont over-exert yourself.. look after you and fingers crossed it will pass over time.. keep well hydrated, especially if youre getting headaches, us preggos can get dehydrated quickly. I hope you start to feel better soon xx

Thank you it’s cheered me up a little knowing I should feel more myself fairly soon xx

I was so fed up in the first trimester. And so so tired. Take it easy on yourself, take naps when you need to and make life easier for yourself- I ended up buying a lot of ready cut food etc because I didn’t feel up to my normal cooking. Make sure you drink lots of water and small meals often.

It does pass when you head into the second trimester. It’s such a funny feeling- you’re pleased to be pregnant and have some symptoms but at the same time feel miserable. X

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. I feel awful because I wish I could be happy but I am just miserable all the time and so moody because I’m soooo tired all the time xx
