6 weeks pregnant and feeling awful ☹️

Hi all, I’m currently pregnant with my third pregnancy, unfortunately my first 2 ended in miscarriage. With my first 2 I had very slight symptoms ie, boobs were a bit sore and I was tired. But with this pregnancy I’ve hit 6 weeks and this week I feel absolutely terrible, and I mean nauseous all day, vomiting in the evenings. Exhausted beyond belief with zero energy causing a bit of dizziness. I’ve got insanely sore breasts and no appetite.

Is this normal as I’m worried sick there’s something wrong?

Thankyou in advance ☺️

Unfortunately it’s totally normal. I am 22w pregnant with my second and I felt like I was dying from 6-10w. It wasn’t this bad last time with my little boy. I never actually vomited but was stuck in the feeling of constantly needing to vomit with headaches and diziness. It was torture. I had to be signed off work. I took cyclizine which sort of helped. It’s a rough time and I really feel for you. Keep 2 things in mind: 1) you’re statistically less likely to miscarry with morning sickness than no morning sickness, and 2) it will, eventually, get better. Do speak to your GP if it’s getting to you; taken with severe work stress mine almost pushed me to antenatal depression, which is why GP insisted I take 2w off to try and get on top of it. One thing to try is trying to eat very frequently-the only thing that helped in any way was to not let myself get too nauseous by eating every hour. I was living on toast and marg, and ham sandwiches. Grapes I found oddly soothing as well. Fever tree ginger beer I found helped in pregnancy 1 but not this one. Hope you feel better soon xx

Thankyou so much for your response, been to see the gp today and he has prescribed me some cyclizine, thank goodness!

Hopefully all these symptoms are pointing to good things as I never really had any symptoms with my first 2 pregnancies 🤞🏻

I will try eating little and often as even the thought of food at the minute makes me want to throw up!

Thanks again ☺️😘

Hi there, so sorry for your previous miscarriages but I have good news for you. Signs of sickness is actually a major sign you have a healthy pregnancy. It’s not to say if you don’t have this you don’t have a healthy pregnancy but having these symptoms and feeling absolutely awful is a really good sign of healthy pregnancy. This happened to me on my one pregnancy that resulted in a healthy baby.

Aw Thankyou! Really needed to hear that! as you can imagine I’m so worried I’ll miscarry again but I can already see massive differences in this pregnancy to my others so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I completely understand. I had a natural pregnancy miscarriage at 12 weeks with symptoms but not nausea. Then a failed ivf attempt followed by my positive successful one. I too was a nervous wreck after miscarriage and refused to believe everything was really okay until I got to 22 weeks. Even then I was adverse to shopping for baby so I totally understand your nerves. When I went to my viability scan I said I’d been really sick and she said that’s wonderful! Remember beige food is your friend, and don’t worry about what you eat, as crisps and sweets seem about all I could have sometimes. It’s temporary and your baby will make sure it gets all the nutrients from you despite what you eat. There’s a theory that food aversion is a way of keeping baby safe from harmful foods in the first trimester. Good luck for the rest of the time ❤️❤️❤️🤞

I had two early losses and one MMC with varying symptoms which I wasn't sure were the pregnancies or the meds, but on my successful pregnancy the morning sickness was unmistakable - it kicked in around 6 weeks and lasted up to the third trimester. It was awful and made working very difficult but everyone said it was a good sign and fairly early on my HCG was sky high which can be linked to bad morning sickness, so again was told it was a good thing. I think every woman is different and so is every pregnancy but purely from my experience I would view it as a good sign that you have a healthy and strong little fighter in there producing all the right hormones and plenty of them. Unfortunately that can make you feel horrendous but I'm trying for a second so it hasn't put me off x
