I am expecting my son in March, and was wondering what was the best make/model to go for? I have a spinal implant and bad hips so it needs to be light and easy to manoeuvre, but still as safe for my little man as possible. It also needs to fold up well to fit into my partner's boot.

What is the safest travel system to buy?
You will get plenty of answers on this and when u look online they will say they are safe as they wudnt b able to sell them if they weren't. We have the oyster travel system which is compatible with maxi cosi seat..we have the carrycot and the seat bit yhts for 6months plus..it folds down nice and compact as I hav a new shape corsa anf the boots r small but it folds down really quick and easy and both carrycot and chassis fit in my boot. For the car seat..carry cot .and loads of accessories was under 500. U shud maybe go to kiddicare as u can tell them whats specifications u want..practice folding and check if it fits in ur car and test drive them thts we we did then ordered online and arrived next day..there r so many out there so happy shopping xx
Any travel system you buy should be manufactured to British Safety Standards and will carry a label with this information. Therefore I think they are all as safe as each other.
From the point of view of manoeuvrability and weight etc., if you can get to a large retailer they will let you trial out various systems within the store x
If you want to avoid bending too much, look into the Stokke Xplory. I can highly recommend it. Holds baby higher than other systems, compatable with several different car seats, carry cot and chair. Chair has 5 positions - three parent facing, two away. It has a two wheel function which makes escalators a doddle. Easy to manoover - turns 360 degs on the spot. Easy to get around busy shops etc.
So far we've had it in the back of a golf, an Astra, a Passat and a focus x
