Sharp Pains

Hi Ladies

I keep getting really sharp "take your breath away" pains on my left side kind of above hip. I know when I had my 12 week scan they also found a cyst on my left ovary. - should I be concerned?

Any sort of sharp pain ( espicially during pregnancy) can be a bit worrying but it could sometimes be the level of movement from the baby on our pelvic bone /muscles

espicially if the baby has / is engaging themselfs.

How many weeks pregnant are you?

Only 17 weeks pregnant

O.K, Bearing in mind you are not experiencing any sort of unusual "vaginal" discharge I think its mainly down to your ligaments& other pelvic muscles having a "good old" stretch .

It will hopefully pass

I got a lot of stabby sharp pains between 16 and 20 weeks, was put down to growth and skin/muscles stretching, was worse when walking! If you are concerned, chat with midwife x

I had these sharp pains start at about 18- now I'm 23 weeks nearly (mainly when I walked) midwife said was sure to the growth of ur uterus and ligaments pushing and adjusting to the room as baby grows. Mine have eased off at times and then at other times there really painful so going mention again on my next check up. Could be a similar thing to what ur experiencing. This is my first pregnancy and yes it's so nerve racking just make sure u keep ur midwife informed too. Good luck xx
