Cymbalta for nerve pain/MS pain

It was prescribed several years back but did nothing for me. Perhaps it will work for you🤞
There are a number of antidepressants that are helpful for people with neuropathic pain. Cymbalta is one of them. If you do go on the drug you need to be aware that you have to take it for months before you really notice the improvement in pain levels.
I have tried a whole host of medication for nerve pain. Cymbalta, Tegretol, tramadol, and a few others I can’t remember. The only one that takes the edge off of it a bit for me is gabapentin. I try to exercise as much as I can and I also use compression wear on the areas that hurt. I recall being on Cymbalta for quite a few months. It didn’t do anything for me. I needed more than two months to slowly taper off of it because of the discontinuance syndrome symptoms.
Yes.I take a low dose and have for 10 years.
I have taken the generic Duloxetine for 8+ years at night for nerve pain and to help sleep. It has been helpful for me.
Starting taking Cymbalta 29 years ago for depression and now they prescribe it for pain. It has worked for me as I am still on it. Several years ago thought I could quit and that didn’t go well so I’m still taking it. Has been great for me. Takes a little while before you notice any difference. Good luck 👍🏼 😉
I have taken it for about 6 years. It’s also known as duloxetine(generic). I’m happy with it, seems to help, but it is difficult to stop. One must taper off slowly and under the supervision of a doctor. It definitely has helped me with my nerve pain. Hope this helps you.

Hello Carlrossi, I took cymbalta about 5yrs ago for burning feet. I didn't think it was helping.
So I tried to taper off my way, I went to the er twice in one wk. I was having so many problems I didn't realize it was the cymbalta until I started feeling better. I had anxiety for a month., I had to take xanax .
Fast forward about 1.5 yrs ago burning pain would wake me up from sleep. Dr gave me oxcarbazepine , 600mg gabapentin both 3 times a day and 1 cymbalta at night. So far so good.
But Please call your dr. if you want to come off of it.
