I have been off of Gab for 9 months now. That drug made me a zombie but I also think I was going through my first long relapse...maybe. I just found a prescription for 60 mg cymbalta that he must have given me to try. I do think I have fibromyalgia and with the lack of any Christmas or life spirit I'm thinking depression too. Anybody taking cymbalta? I am worried about the zombie feeling and weight gain. Merry Christmas. Xxoo

Cymbalta
And do you take pain meds in addition.
Hi, SometimesCrazy . I have been on Cymbalta (generic name duloxetine) at a dosage of 90 mg every morning, for so long that I can't recall when I began, but I think it was in the very early 2000s or late 1990s. I have had depression pretty much all of my life, and have been on many anti-depressants, but my neurologist finally figured out that I have a serotonin problem, so I was first put on Prozac in the mid-1980s by a psychiatrist. The Prozac worked for a long time, but then it didn't any more, so I went to Zoloft for awhile, then Paxil, Lexapro, Wellbutrin and on and on. A lot of these were prescribed by my neurologist because I was getting horrific hemiplegic migraines after 11 months of the downward spiral in my depression. None of these helped as well as the Prozac had, so I went back on that for awhile, but I still got the migraines and I was still depressed. Finally, the neuro put me on Cymbalta 60 mg because not only was it a good anti-depressant, but it was supposed to help with nerve pain as well, so he thought it might help the migraines. It helped the depression, but not the migraines. After I was diagnosed with MS, I stayed on the Cymbalta but bumped up to 90 mg every morning. I do know that it helps the depression a lot, because when I go off of it, for whatever reason, I can definitely tell the difference in my mood. It also is safe, at least for me...I have had no side effects at all. But whether it helps the MS, I don't know. The neuro eventually put me on Lyrica, along with the Cymbalta, as a last resort for the migraines, and it worked! I didn't have another migraine for 11 months after suffering with them for years and they would last months! Whether Lyrica helps the nerve pain from the MS I also can't tell, but I think that it does. You might want to ask your health care provider about a Cymbalta-=Lyrica combination, especially if you think you might have fibromyalgia. Good luck--hope this helps. Sukie427
I have been on Cymbalta for 22 years for depression. Yes, it works for me. I know now they prescribe it for pain. I take 60mg day at night, was on 30mg for 12years. I know you can go up to 90mg, but I haven’t yet. I have no side effects at all. I do have a pain pump implant. Good luck and hope it works for you 🙏👍🎄🎅🤶🏼⛄️❄️ Ken
I take Cybalta. I have been on it for about 6 months since my last antidepressant stopped working and I was at the max dose and my doctor thought this was the next best thing for me. I have been on antidepressants for so long...started on Zoloft, was on Pristique for many years and it worked really well but was at max does, and there were others that I can't think of before MS. I'm on 30mg currently but I think I may ask my doctor to up it at my next appointment.
