Poor Stormy

My doggy had to have surgery on his front paw today. He injured it about 10 days ago and I took him to the vet that I have used before. They said just let it rest and it should be fine. Well, it got massively worse all of a sudden. I took him today after being up with him all night in pain. His paw was beet red and swollen. Turns out he had an infection in his BONE. The injury affected the dew claw deeply and the tendon was injured. They had to operate to correct everything and clean it. No trail for him for about 10 days. He is just wiped out, from both the anesthesia and no sleep last night. My best buddy has his paw all wrapped up like a burrito and he’s going to be fine, hopefully. Take care everyone. Kelly

Aw, I'm sorry, Amore55! It absolutely sucks when our sweet pets are sick, or in pain. My late dog and late kitty had paw issues at different times, and I was a wreck. I make my husband crazy when one of our pets isn't well because I get so anxious and want to take them to the vet right now! It sounds like Stormy has a loving mom who takes great care of him. I sure hope he'll be feeling better soon! 🐕

I’m very fortunate that I have found this new vet. I believe they are better than the previous one I had been using. I wish our little loves could talk with us and tell us what they want.

Oh, I am so looking forward to the delicious autumn weather. He is a very active dog puppy, and I know that I must expect some injuries occasionally. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you, Carole. He really should have been included in the list of my best friends! He is the one who I spend most of my time with throughout the day and all night. He snuggles up with me every night, just as close as he can get! So much love and happiness.

I'm so sorry to hear that Amore55! It is awful when our pets are hurting! Pickles, my little half corgi / half beagle mix somehow got into my purse a few months ago (I don't know how he opened the clasp!) a while back and ate an entire bag of xylitol gum. He was acting fine, but we knew better and had to take him to an emergency vet (it was a Sunday). Thankfully he is okay, just keeping a prolonged eye on his liver. It was touch and go for a few days! But it is awful when you know they are not doing well, or hurt, and there is only so much you can do to help them. I hope that Stormy heals quickly and easily and is back on the trail with you soon!🧡

I’m so glad too. I was thinking that without the antibiotics he might have lost his leg! He is so stoic that he didn’t even whine or whimper. 😢
