Ocrevus Infusion Today

I had my 3rd full dose infusion today. Everything went well. It only took one stick to get the vein compared to my last one that took 7 sticks and 4 nurses! No side effects except for the methylprednisone that has made my heartbeat irregular again so I had to take some propafenone/Rythmol to get it settled down. It made for a long 10 hour day. My husband spent the time at the beauty supply and Harbor Freight. He switched from Home Depot as his favorite place to shop to the beauty supply when he left construction/handyman to hairdresser/instructor. He had never been in a Harbor Freight so he went in to check it out. All in all, it was a good day.

That’s great sorry for the heart issue

As for harbor and freight he will love them. They always have coupons for getting teams for cheap and you usually can get something for free as well

Did you have to have any special blood test to make sure immune system was strong enough for your infusion? I ask because I get my 2nd in July and I wonder how it will be affected by all that is going on.

My O infusion was supposed to be on April 17th in Philly but it has been postponed due to Covid. I need to get the usual bloodwork prior to the infusion, nothing additional.

No, nothing special. Everything was the same as every other time. The only screening they do with Ocrevus is for Hepatitis B, which you should have had done before your first infusion. My neuro also checks for PML.

Ocrevus. Is infusion a pill?

Ocrevus is inyecttions.

I have also MS, with inyecttions Rebif since 2005, 3 times a week.

And at the moment, all Is ok.

Infusion is a procedure where the medicine is administered through an IV (intravenous drip) over a 3 hour period. 30 minutes prior to that, they give you Benedryl & 100mg methylprednisolone.

,z Amen to that it is always a good thing when they are able to start your infusion with, no problems with setting up the infusion drip. I have had a couple of problems where it took more than one attempt to start the infusion drip
