This week has been rough! Introducing...

My MS Adventure Buddy has a name now! Introducing Finley Ashowen! Or Fin for short. Pictured above at my iron infusion last week.

I did better with the iron infusion than with my first one, which is to say I didn't look 'like death pulled through a keyhole' - not my description 🤣🤣😅 That is not to say it was great, it still made the week hard to get through. I had my Kesimpta yesterday... it's still giving me flu like symptoms, but I must admit, not as bad as the loading doses. I barely slept a wink last night and I've only managed a short nap or two so far today, and have a fever. I'm taking stuff for it, but it is making my body temp go haywire.

I had to pause two of my crochet projects. One, a scarf for my husband, MSCanisLupus, as somehow I made it about 10 ft long!!🫣🤣Thankfully it is only about 3 inches wide, so I didn't get really far into it before noticing how very, very long I somehow made it! Must 'frog' 🐸or take that apart soon! The other is a crocheted tote I was making, in pastels. One of the very center pieces of yarn somehow broke, so that project is in time out🤣 till I am less frustrated with it, and can figure out how to fix it! I am working on several new projects: A flower bouquet for my vase (the last real flowers MSCanisLupus bought me were so full of pollen🏵️they had both our allergies going haywire!), an African flower granny square headband (shouldn't take too long, just getting used to making the African flowers), and an amigurumi Hobbes (from the Calvin and Hobbes comic!). A bunch of the patterns I had on Etsy were on deep sale this week, so I have a bunch of things to make! Keeping the boredom at bay, one stitch at a time!🧶

What do you do to keep the boredom at bay?🧡🧡

Wow, you're crocheting up a storm! Good for you. Fin's name suits him!

I'm so sorry that your iron infusion made you sick again. And your Kesimpta. That's rotten luck! I hope it stops doing that to you.❤️

"Death pulled through a keyhole." Wow, that's colorful! I never heard that one before, and I like it. So sorry it was applied to you, though! 😆

😂Have to say it made me laugh, though! First time I had the infusion was almost as bad as my bout with Covid!

Having lots of projects helps me not get overly frustrated with one 😂Plus, there are take with me sized projects, and stay at home projects🧶

Dare I ask who uttered that description of you, and whether or not you are still speaking to that person?

I would like for you to nonchalantly give your hubby the ten foot scarf and see how he responds! 😆

I actually did ask him to come check out the length of the scarf... I told him I thought I made it a *bit too long 🤣We had a good laugh about it 😀

Accidentally made the scarf 10 feet long!! You must have been very focused on the stitches! 😵‍💫

I find scarves very fun and soothing to make, they are the projects I usually take on the go with me, less of a hassle... except for this one! 🤣

Glad that you can keep yourself busy, MSFlea ! I quilt to pass the time away, and to stay busy. What a sweet talker the person who said that you looked like ‘death pulled through a keyhole’. I was once told that I looked liked I slept on a clothesline in the middle of a wind and rain storm! 😆

I was starting to get into quilting when all this mess happened last Fall with my first full flare. I LOVE to sew, and had started making quilted totes, zipper pouches, book covers.... all kinds of fun things! I was working on a quilted laptop bag and had just bought the stuff to make a quilted weekender bag when my hand went numb.... I'd love if you posted your quilts when you finish them, or do you already do that? I've not been on there but a few months now. I crochet mostly now because I can rest and lean back while I'm doing it. But I am hoping to get back into good enough health that I can sew again. I miss it. And crochet bags are just not as sturdy as sewn ones! 🧵

That comment is also very descriptive! Hopefully it was was well meant and you got a good laugh.

You can look through my past posts to see my quilting escapades,  MSFlea ! I cannot wait to see your creations!

My dad told me that when he picked me up from school many many years ago. I was sick so him saying that told me how sick I really looked because he is a man of little words. 😆

Y’all are SO funny!! I have not heard these descriptive terms of how I have actually felt! I have often gotten out of bed after a rough night and truly look like Don King because my hair gets hot 🥵 on the back of my neck and somehow I scoop it up in my sleep.. my family has called me “Donna King” 😆 I am a reader.. I always keep books from the library on my phone

LOL, I really felt like how I was described after that infusion, and I thought it was funny, so it didn't bother me 🤣

I have slept like that a lot! It does not help that I am perimenopausal and get hot flashes, then get overheated from the hot flashes!! We bought cooling sheets and a cooling blanket, and my pillow is memory foam with cooling (I don't think the cooling in the pillow actually works!!) and the sheets and blanket help a LOT! I'm a reader too! Since I started crocheting again I am on Audible a lot listening to books as I crochet... that is tricky because it has to have a really good narrator to me to be able to listen to it. It is not as good as actually reading the book, but it helps with keeping my mind occupied while I crochet, and I've found some narrators that I really love. 🧡

ohhh audio books are a treat! The last one that was read to me was “Atomic habits “ by James Clear.. he narrated his own book.. he was so inspiring .. I have taken some good things from his book 😊I don’t know what my status is in menopause land but I absolutely get HOT in the middle of the night but my husband does too so I just don’t know 🤗

I love that book! I love it when the author reads their own book, as they know just where the emphasis' and pauses should go. 😀
