This is the creek behind my house as of half an hour ago. It's normally about 8' wide and no more than a foot deep. Several of the local roads have been closed because of it. I'm the smart one in the family and haven't left the house. ๐

Anyone having drought conditions?
The water's high where I am at too.
Have you ever been up that creek?๐
That is unnerving, NorasMom . Please be safe.
Oh, that's nothing! You should have been here the day we signed the papers to buy the house. We didn't think too much of the heavy rains coming down...until we discovered that all the main roads were impassable. We had to circle around about 12 miles and come down off the mountain behind us. Found out later that they called it a "100-year flood" because the water had never been that high in anyone's memory, and I had neighbors who'd spent 90+ years living here. I have a skinny 3-acre lot, with the house beside the road and the rest of it going out back to the creek. Nearly everything but the immediate yard was under water!
Hope it starts receding soon - and that you have sun today!
Wow, I hope it stops raining soon! Stay safe!

Yes, stay home! Around here houses located in the 100 year flood zones are now having a hard time getting insurance. I hope that wasn't the case for you!
We're good, but the township supervisors leave a lot to be desired. They'd made some changes a few YEARS before the sale, but they hadn't recorded them properly OR notified the affected residents, and the updates didn't appear during the title search. So, I have the land I wanted, but I can't do much of anything with it. Trying to fight it would take more money than I'll ever have.
That is terrible! The zoning on some land here was changed without consultation or warning. We can't do anything with it now.
Wow! Wishing you safety.
Hope the water goes down soon.
Hope the water goes down soon. So scary to have that much water around.
The water's gone down a LOT, but you can see where it covered the guardrails. They had to bring in front loaders to clean up the mud and debris, so this mile-or-two stretch of road wasn't open until this afternoon.
That's a lot of water! Reminds me of the time my friend spent the night with me in 4th grade and it flooded. We managed to stay above water at our place, but surrounding her house was flooded... her Dad still wanted her to come home, so he met us at the edge of the flooding... in a canoe ๐๐คฃ Stay dry, my friend!!๐งก
