Well my worries have pretty much been confirmed. Dr ordered another brain and skeletal MRI to check for new lesions before ordering a 5 day steroid visit. He thinks I'm in the middle of a stress and overexertion exberation due to the stress on heat from moving. He's especially concerned about the weird stuff going on with my arm and the extreme fatigue and balance problems. Just what I need when I have to be moved out of this house and into our new place by Tuesday. He wanted to to have the MRIs tomorrow but the one I had last month took 2 weeks to schedule. Said take it as easy as possible stay out of heat and try reducing stress level. Yeah right. Then he says good luck with your moving. What a guy huh.lol. all prayers needed and appreciated. Nobody ever said MS was easy. Have a great weekend everyone and god bless.

I'm in Ga and it's in the low 90s with 90% humidity and scattered thunderstorms all weekend. Beautiful moving weather. Yeah it thoughtful of your Dr to says take it easy in the heat and stress and good luck on your move. They go together so well. Lol. Thanks for the prayers. Have a good weekend and God bless.
I don't understand why your doc wouldn't give you the steroids if he thought you were in an relapse-regardless of an MRI. Praying for you as you have so much to do and feel so poorly...💕
I was wondering about steroids also. I'm not sure. Do you have to be hospitalized for the 5 day treatment or can that be done out patient. I could sure use the energy. Thanks for the prayers.
I've always done my 3-5 day solumedrol infusions at home, Doubled51 . But I also live 2hrs away from my doc at the MS Clinic. I've been given the option to have it done at the hospital or home. I go in and the nurse starts the IV and first infusion, then I go home with an ice chest and instructions on how to continue and pull out (easy) the port after it's all done. I assume your doc's office is closed today an there's no way to call and ask to do the steroids asap as an outpatient? You probably don't need to add this concern to your plate. You have enough to deal with as it is. I am praying for peace, comfort and strength. 💕
Doubled51 , lousy timing for a relapse (as though there's a good time?) We'll be praying extra for you now. I pray you will have lots of help and can delegate as much as possible.
greaterexp and Doubled51 Seems like bad timing is what brings on an exacerbation. When we have time to have one, we are relaxed. Should be a lesson for us all in this.
Heat is a huge enemy for many MSers (I am one of them) but the gross symptoms should diminish or go away once you get cooled off (chew on ice, pour cold water on your head, put your head in the refrigerator, whatever it takes), if not, then you are probably having an exacerbation. I was told that we should be given the steroid drip to help prevent permanent damage. I was hospitalized to begin the infusion and then sent home with the (pills) taper. After so many years they would send me for the infusions as an out patient.
My symptoms started last Sunday at least the worst of them did. That's why he wants MRI done as soon as possible. The fact that I had to move so quickly is why he didn't put me in the hospital I think. He wanted me to have the MRI yesterday but it was impossible to schedule one so quickly but I'll be on the phone first thing in the morning.
Doubled51 they say ' no pain, no gain' that is certainly true in the Christian world. I know it's easy for us all to say, but please chill, go with the flow, don't worry if things don't go smoothly, all things happen for a reason. Do you have to change doctors now that you are moving? If so, you ever no, you may get a really good one. Praying that is so. Big blessings Jimeka 🦋 🌈 🙏 🏡 👍
Not changing MS Dr. Changing all other Drs but not that one. I'm still a rookie at this and have faith in him so I'll drive 80 miles each way for him. I also have a sleep Dr for sleep apnea my Neuro Dr agreed to take that over so that's one less new Dr I have to find. The less the cheaper i mean the less the better. My son and grandson and my grandson in law for sure will be helping. If not we couldn't do it. Thanks for the prayers. I'm taking it easy for sure. I've got to be able to at least make it to the closings Tuesday. Lol. Thanks for your prayers cause without him I'd never make it thru this.
😕I am so sorry to hear about the relapse. Good luck to you! I hope the move goes as smoothly as possible. The good news is once you move in-- you can slow the pace way down! Solumedrol always makes me feel worse before feeling a whole lot better.
A different perspective. So maybe, if you're like Juleigh21 , it's best NOT to start the steroids until after Tuesday, Doubled51 . Praying for wisdom too. 💕
I'm not sure ow my body would react cause the only time I received iv steroids was in the hospital and I already felt so bad I didn't know. The final results were great cause I could ask any use my arm again when I left but the beginning I couldn't judge. But as weak and wobbly my body and especially my legs are I would gladly have taken a chance. Lol. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement because I need them all to get this done.
