Home at last!

After 2 months (!) in hospital I finally got home on Friday.

My hands were very stiff one day, the next I couldn't move them at all. That was very scary.

They decided I had a virus, which took a week to get over, then I caught another - I had high temperature and a very phlegmy chest. They also put me on Baclofen. Covid? Don't know, they say hospitals no longer test for Covid, they now treat it as just another flu bug. That took another week, then another 4 weeks to recover from lying in bed for weeks...

And now I need to recover from the trauma of that long in hospital... Urrrrggghhhhhhhhh!πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ›οΈπŸ›οΈπŸ©Ί and rebuild some arm and hand mobility and strength πŸ‘ŒπŸ€ŒπŸ‘‹πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

I really feel your pain πŸ«‚β€οΈ back in 2021, I spent 27 days in hospital after having a status epilepticus event. I felt confused, lonely, and the amount of times I weren't able to see visitors is crappy 😬 I do remember feeling tonnes better when I got steroids infused! I was able to get to the main entrance to see my husband, swap dirty washing for clean washing, tell him of the updates I had whilst in there - the phonecall from my MS nurse telling me to stop copaxone on X date because its been found I've got highly active MS and will be starting on ocrevus 😁 I was able to get out of my wheelchair and go back to using my stick πŸ™ŒMaybe see a physio for your hand and arm mobility πŸ€”

My friend I’m sorry to hear you were ill, thank God you’re home and on the road to recovery. I understand how you feel. Last year at this time, I was hospitalized for almost a month due to kidney stone that caused me to be very ill with an infection. I was so glad to get home in my bed! Take care , and continued prayers of healing and strength. Blessings and Peace. NeeC

sometimes you have to be your own advocate to ask your doctor what you need… Like, maybe in-home PT or outpatient PT πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€žπŸ»πŸ€—

A PT from the hospital is coming to visit me on Friday and I was referred to the community physio team before I left.
