On 4-4-23, I stood up & broke my foot. No one really believed that so I started saying due to my MS, I was unbalanced & rolled my foot. Broke my R. 5th metatarsal. This is the same side I had a meniscus repair in 2022. Wore a boot, then a post op shoe for months. Had finally gotten to a metal insole. Had 4 MRI’s on 8-4-23. A bone density on 8-14-23. I passed every test. No new lesions & bone scan was good. On 8-23-23 seen my PCP. That was good. Even picked up a few groceries using their scooter in the store. Picked up my grandson on the way home to unload & put up groceries. Then stepped in a hole. Now I’ve got a broken left ankle. I’ve not left the house since 8-24, when I seen my Ortho doc again. Told them I’d missed them. My husband told them I just wanted a matching pair of boots. Next week I go back for more X-rays. Hopefully it’s still undisplaced. He said I’ll be in a boot much longer with my ankle. I move around some but not much. All my weight is on my right side when I’m up. My R. Knee & foot “love” that. Now I’ve got to file another accident claim & I’m going around & around with my LTD company. Oh & SSDI just sent me my first denial letter.
At least I’m staying busy. HaHaHa. Thankful for y’all & #mstok. TikTok also has a great MS Community. I’m not real comfortable posting myself but maybe someday…..

Haven’t thought about that. I’ve got a walker for inside the house. My husband actually bought a mobility scooter off marketplace. I’ve got it outside.
so sorry ,easy to do and they just don't understand ...take care and go longer on the boot ...be safe ....love and much happiness to get well...hugs ...
oh, my goodness! That sounds so painful! You gotta watch them holes - heyll jump out at you when you least expect it. Prayers for a speedy and bump-free recovery.
Hi SandraKOE, I'm so sorry you've had all of this going on. I had a similar foot fracture back in May--I had no idea the bone was broken although I'd had a fall and the foot had been hurting. It just wasn't the kind of nearly unbearable pain I've had with other fractures. So I was surprised when I went to the podiatrist for a routine visit weeks later and they did an Xray and found that break.
I wore a "walking shoe" for a couple of months but the latest word is that some of these breaks never heal, and mine seems to be one of them. I was told to ignore it from now on, so long as it's not bothering me. He said it takes 12 weeks at the bare minimum for this type of break to heal but that often it's much longer.
So far, it doesn't bother me unless I put too much stress on it, and even then it isn't bad. I have to go back for another follow-up this month.
