Do not wear ratty old slippers in a ratty old house with crooked floors and rough doorways.
Do not wear ratty old slippers with crooked floors and a pee pad right in front of you that the dog just used.
Do not wear ratty old slippers with crooked floors, used pee pads in the way, a dog always underfoot, and a vacuum cleaner in your hands.
More helpful advice:
When the ratty old slipper gets caught in the doorway and you slide across the pee pad on your backside, be sure to throw the vacuum across the room without hitting the dog and then twist yourself into a pretzel to avoid slamming into the 19th-century mahogany rocking chair.
Iβve learned my lesson. I will stop vacuuming on Sundays. π

π« I'm thankful I don't often wear any shoes in any house, wether mine or someone else's! At least then I can feel the floor more π but, I understand your predicament, and having to fold yourself into a pretzel if/when you do fall! I know I automatically either go and fall on one side or fall on my butt for some reason π€·ββοΈ but I think that's because I don't have enough time to fold up π€π¬ But, at least you've tried hoovering up! (UK saying for vacuuming, using a Henry Hoover as inspiration so everyone knows what you've done/doing π€£) And on a Sunday too!!! That's mine and my husband's "lazy" day, where we finish up what should have been done on Saturday, such as doing washing or doing the weekly shop π€·ββοΈ
Oh my, a free whirl a twirl ride, right there in your own home! I've now spoken to my ratty old Birkenstocks, my leaky old dog, and a variety of slick spots. Let this be a cautionary tale for them! I hope your bruises fade quickly.
Oh, it definitely happened, but I'm laughing about it now. I didn't include the part where my son heard me land and came running to rescue me. He was not as amused, but that's only because it was his vacuum! He checked it first for damage and then asked if I needed help getting up. π
So glad you're ok! I know about slippery dog pee pads! And I will take any excuse to throw away my vacuum! At least you didn't break anything, and you're able to laugh about it now. Take care.
Hmmm, just yesterday I resorted to wearing an old pair of IKEA slippers because of lousy weather and cold feet. Although I don't have an old house I am going to listen to your story, as I know these slippers are unsafe. π I am glad you weren't badly hurt.
