G'day RRms (Relapsing-Remitting ms) sisters and brothers. Are you having MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image)? A visit to the tube? Lucky YOU, good fun I know. Here are a few helpful hints.
1. TAKE valium 5 milligrams should be enough
2. KEEP a record of the report and the film. YOU may not be able to understand it today but one day YOU will.
3. Keep the records and start learning what it means.
4. have a good day, relax and do not stress RRms and take your Disease Modifying Therapy (DMT.
5. I still suggest Ocrevus.

lol. I'm one of those rare people who doesn't mind MRI's at all. Unless the technician is a jerk, they're kind of fun. I tend to fall asleep during them.
Good advice, well intentioned, I'm sure, but I can't take any of it. Like NorasMom, I don't mind a MRI at all. Back in the olden days when it took 4 + hours to have an MRI done, I would get so tired ( and Bored) that I would fall asleep, which would always astonish the technicians. Yes, I can sleep through anything! I don't take any DMT's as my RRMS, didn't stay that way...it chose to change to SPMS, and there is nothing available that my Dr.'s felt would be appropriate for me. I have lots of MRI's on Disc's now, and thanks to a wonderful Neurologist I had in Florida ( don't ask/he is no longer seeing private patients), who took the time to go over my MRI's in great detail, he taught me how to read them...how to spot a lesion, is it new, old, active? So, thank you, Brother Royce, like MS itself, you do your thing and I will do mine, and I will see you when the time comes! Linda
I personally wouldn't touch valium with a barge pole.
There are far, far scarier and more unpleasant things in the world, and in hospitals, than MRI scanners. Sure it's noisy, but it's clean and dry, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't invade any bodily orifices, it doesn't draw blood, and however close it is to your face, your feet are still sticking out.
But, hey, we are all different.
It's boring, but how often in my life have I spent that amount of time doing nothing waiting for a train or a bus. The waiting room is often a worse experience!
I fortunately don't mind MRIs either. I do, however, ask the technician if I am still on planet earth when I get out of the machine due to the odd space-like high-tech noises I heard while in the machine.
Hi Royce I bet you have as much knowledge or more than the average neuro! Any of us who have been dealing with MS for over 2o yrs. We know enough NOT! to panic as it will change in a day or two. Mary
Thank you Royce. I do have my doc prescribe mid sedative for me. I have had so many 'tube' experiences; one bad experience was it. Only takes one, now I close my eyes, pray 🙏 hope the headset has smooth jazz with Boney James.. or George Benson. NeeC
