G'day ms friends and family (YOU). With your permission, I will talk again today to the newly diagnosed (Dx'd), (Newbies) First off DO NOT BE SCARED. It is okay, YOU are okay. To cry, it is okay. To wonder about your future, that is okay. Most things are okay. Hurting yourself or ignoring ms is NOT ok.
This is not a fatal condition, except by your own actions. I know it kind of sucks but needles are in your life, I hate them as well, but I want the best for me in another 20 or so years, so I take them. Undergo the constant testing and smile and relax. I have learned that Valium is my friend for all of my many Magnetic resonance ImAGE (MRI) tests. I have never undergone a spinal tap and I never will. I am told an MRI is just as good and no needles. Have I mentioned that I do not like needles?
YOU are going to find your way. ms is challenging but yOU are up for the challenge. Stop crying for a moment and start organising yourself for this very long journey YOU are now on. Take the STRONGEST medicine that YOU can get, It will be an infusion 3x the first year then 2 per year. This YOU CAN DO.
ms is a challenge but be smart ask questions, make notes (a journal) and YES YOU can do it. Be smart and be well. Remember to make decisions that are best for YOU.
Live well and smile. YOU are going to be alright.
