I took steroids, once. It was in the summer, it was really hot and I was just having all kinds of issues flaring up. Left side weakness, a limp, tingling, fatigue, muscle spasms. My MS nurse practitioner wasn’t sure that it was an actual exacerbation or caused by the heat, and stress. She thought a course of steroids might help so I gave it a try. I remember having to take a bunch of pills but I think I started out intravenously on a Friday and then had to take the pills over the weekend as the office was closed. This was over ten years ago.
What I remember most about it was that I had the worst depression I’ve ever had in my life and that’s saying something. I even had to take a few days of sick leave from my job. I remember thinking that if I ever wanted to kill myself, prednisone would make it very easy!! And that I would never, ever take it again.
That is my experience. Hope it helps.

Wow 😯 thank you for posting that. My best friend said that a round of prednisone sends her over the edge after day 3…I’ve never had that kind of reaction to that drug but the doses I’ve had are so small compared to this
Wow, I've not heard of that before. I've had several Solumedral 3-day infusions & also have taken prednisone and never had any reactions like that. Thank you for sharing, it's good to know the different reactions to these meds we take.
