I am sensitive to the heat. At time, I feel like my body is in fire. Is anyone can tell me more about the cooling vest and if worth it to invest on it? Thank you

If you qualify it’s free thru MSAA. Just fill out application and they will send you one. I use mine all the time when I am doing yard work. Have used it for car and air shows also. Depends on temperature but mine will work 2-4 hours. It’s just a basic one and I know there are way more spendy ones out there, but haven’t tried any of those. 🤞🏼 Good Luck 👍🏼 😉🙏🐾🐾

Inexpensive items to try are gel scarves, Frog pads and athletic cooling towels. All these items are soaked in water and work by evaporation. I live in a summer humid environment so they work better indoors (with AC or fans) than outside. Cooling vests use ice packs and are heavier. I bought a Polar vest, but gave to to another MSer because I didn't like the weight and found it restrictive

I did the same thing for the same reason.

I use the gel scarves too. They work for me outside when it’s not too humid or outside my upper temperature limit. The way I look at it, if it’s too hot and/or humid for my gel scarves to work, I shouldn’t be outside. I didn’t like the vests because of the weight, like you, and because having that extra covering boosted my body temp. Besides, the gel scarves are cuter! 😆( I get mine from a small family owned business and they come in lots of different fabrics.)

Yes, the cooling vest with all the ice packs in use, can be weighed at times. But I found it helpful to start with just a few ice packs. Then change them as needed.

I got a cooling hat. You wet it like the frog cooling pads. I got it from a website thing called pulse. They send me ads for things that are inexpensive. I order from them a lot

I just ordered this to have to wear for Thanksgiving while I’m cooking. I haven’t received it yet so I’m not sure if I like it or not. But, it’ll have to suffice because I need something for the heat, and I have heard these work. Indoors or outdoors.

I am very sensitive to heat and living in the southwest for me it’s essential. I got this one from Amazon for $50. It’s not pretty by any stretch of the imagination but it works pretty well and you can buy extra cooling packs too.

Hi Ladybella welcome to our family!! Like others have said MSAA does have a program that if you qualify you can get cooling products. Here is the application mymsaa.org/msaa-help/coolin... I got the cooling belt, and I love it! It's lightweight and I can put the ice packs where I want. Let us know how you make out 🙂🤗💕🌠

That depends on how much cooling you want. There are cheaper items that you wet and wear, and smaller wearables with ice packs that Polar also makes. The cooling vest is my favorite for summer adventures, long walks outside or workouts…but there’s 7lbs of ice to wear fully loaded and it’s not ideal for something like cleaning the house or grocery shopping. Personally, if it’s not ice, it’s not going to help.

I use cooling neck wraps that I store in the fridge when I decide to cook big dinners or make holiday treats it really helps & I make them myself. Use cotton material & get the silica beads.
