Finally I'm no longer homless...

After just 3 months of going from friends houses to roach motels back to friends for a very long week then finally, finally an apartment came available. Ugggg now my new apartment is PINK all the walls are PINK... oh well is what it is... now im in my roach infested apartment... seems like I've found a place in the twilight zone where lip service is the only extras I really get from friends, family (mostly estrange) and even landlords....uggggg society has its way of pushing the disabled to their point break. At least in not under an underpass... just an apartment that I can't afford. Oh well.... such is this life of mine. Sorry i haven't been better at keeping up with the forum. My voice has become so toxic I rarely speak.

Yeah, that pretty much sums things up... and on top of it... my caregiver (biggest help of the ordeal, and goes above and beyond to help me even for free at times) next week is her last. She is starting a teaching job... good for her, bad for me. Also through the ordeal I managed to loose my last real life friends and help. We are on complete opposite sides in the political perception of right and wrong and it has taken its toll after having stayed there so long. Now.... im truly completly on my own... thats a tough space to be in without MS involved.... I think that life wants to make me just another static for it surely is pushing me in that direction

I'm sorry for your pink apartment. When I was a kid, each time we moved my parents would paint my room "Pepto-pink". I, personally hate pink rooms. I love green rooms though. One year I was at summer camp for a long time and they remodeled my room! It was a lovely green.

I can't repaint the entire apartment, 1st off dont have the strength. Second off dont have the money. After my 3 months of prepay (because I don't make enough income) are up.... its either going to be eletric or rent that won't get paid every month... will have to be utilities... cause have to pay rent. I'm gonna apply for energy assistance through the state but most of those programs are out of money so more than likely there will be weeks of candlelight and cold showers

I've considered licking the walls to alleviate my nausea... but just cause it kinda looks like pepto doesn't mean it will work like pepto!!! LoL (as a matter of fact this apartment is the filthiest most roach infested environment that ive ever resided in.) My so called friends negotiated a 200.00 reduction in rent for the first month if "we" cleaned it... of course that was before it was seen... they helped with a quick while down of everything then haven't been heard from since. The stove is so filthy I won't use it. The floors have been scrubbed with a swiffer mop thing several times and every time they still are coming out dark brown but I only have so much strength and I'm getting nowhere. All I get are empty promises of help they do just a very little and then leave the rest to me and on my own . I'm sure they tell everyone... we did everything we could... BS... people just plain suck... my last two "friends" in real life... not online etc... AR now absent like everyone else. At the start of all this... "were gonna be there to help you.... we won't abandon you...(like everyone else) we're not going anywhere.... I knew it was BS then and now I know I was right.... once again.

My neighbor put tan siding (so he said) on his house. He owns his excavation company & also ran that out of his house. Stereotypical New England male-rough no nonsense. We (neighbors) teased him his house was pink. 😜 He’s color blind & couldn’t see the subtle difference. He was a good sport about it.

No its yucky for paint. And it's not for me. I hate it but it's littlerally the only apartment in town I could even come up with the money for. Housing here is really in bad state... all the people I came across living in the motel that couldn't find a place to live... and no where even remotely close was any better. Any section 8 housing has at LEAST a 2 year waiting list

Glad to hear from you. Sorry though about all your living accommodations. Pink, ugh! Friends are fickle, I've lost quite a few myself, but we are here, so vent away.
