Gadolinium & Brain MRI

Good Morning, I was wondering if any of you get nauseous from the gadolinium when you get an MRI? It's never happened to me before, but yesterday I was nauseous for hours after the MRI.

Thank you. I didn't eat lunch because I was worried about having heartburn while lying down in the tube.

I dont get contrast dye during my MRI. The 1st and only time I got it my arm swell up for 2 week afterward

U can ask not to get it as well

I'm so sorry to hear that. I will consider going without it.

So many things we have to be careful about!

MRI Contrast dyes = Gadolinium. Known UNwanted side effects. Strongly suggest checking it out. 2013, I had two such, over six months apart. Ended up hospitalised with the resulting side effects : iatrogenic Lipodermatosclerosis. Permanent damage. Went through months of hell, and now lower limb permanent discomfort. Please check out the alternatives, or, just tell em NO Gd. End of. They will no doubt try to persuade you to accept, but the info is out there, and 'NO' you do not need to have an *enhanced MRI. (It's just easier for em, easier = long run, cheaper !)

Presumably your gad was injected via a canula in your arm, so I'm curious about how that led to a venous insufficiency problem such as lipodermatosclerosis on your lower legs?

Please do consider not using it. There are a lot of posts on the subject here (including 2 of mine). Please let me know if you need help locating them.

rjoneslaw - How did it cause her liver(s) to fail? I've only ever seen kidney problems listed as a side effect of gad.

I would have to ask my sister and mother they would know

It you read the previous posts on the right of this post, where it says related posts, they may help you with your decision. I personally won’t have the dye, I don’t like the side effects. Let us know what you decide and why, it may help someone else in a similar situation. 🤗

I learned in the last couple of years the unknown aspects of gadolinium so I talked to my neurologist about whether it is needed. He said it isn’t - he can see what he needs to see on my MRIs. So for now, I’m not having it as part of my yearly MRI.
